What's Needed:

  • A good helmet (Pro Tec, Hurley)These helmets are better than ones you buy at kmart, therefor better for pretection.
  • Kneepads, if you want them. They are good for if you come off the trike you wont get really bad grazes.
  • A drift trike, not one you pick up from kmart. It has to be custom made, to suite the way you trike or a huffy slide. they are good and you can change the wheels and other parts to suit you.
  • Good wheels to get are green machine wheels are good because they slide good and dont grip to the road. If possible dont make your own wheels because there are never the best way to go.

  • A good hill atleast 45 degrees, its better if the road is smoother, Must be a closed circuit. The smoother the road the easier it is to slide. and if its not a closed circuit you have the chance of getting hit by a car.

This is my friends customised trike
that i use for downhill triking.

Next week I will show you how to
make your own trike customised
to suit the way you ride.

With drift trikes you can just
buy a huffy sliders or design
  your own trike.

If you want to learn to start triking you need to follow my steps:

How To Trike:

  1. Find a smooth 45 degrees rood that is cut off and go to the top with your trike. Better for the sliding of the trike.
  2. Make shore you are wearing all the pretective gear you need. Even with the pretective gear on there are still risks of you getting injured. And you can get from as little as a few grazes to Broken bones, or in a neck brace.
  3. If your trike has petals start pedalling if not just get a bit of a push off. The faster you go the better the sliding will be. So preferbly get a trike with pedals.
  4. Use your weight to fling the drift trike to one side and hold it to drift longer. If you swing to far you will spin out backwards. To hold it longer you have to force it but not to much or it will spin out as well.
  5. If the back of the drift trike is on the left the front has to be on the right, and you should be leaning to the right.
  6. You should be holding the handlebars which are on the right but it should be facing towards the left.
  7. Same thing if you want to drift the other way just reverse everything.

Drift Triking

Sweet Pic of a drift triker, Downhill. His trike is good and the way he has customised it makes it better to drift. When it is wet like in the picture, it is better for the drifting aswell. The reason i like the foot bar is because you have somewhere to rest your feet and there not always hitting the ground, which makes you slow down and the drifting harder.
